Quiksilver and Roxy Pro France from 3 to 13 October 2019!
The global surfing elite comes together every year in the Autumn on the South Landes coast for the ninth round of the World Surfing Championship, the Quiksilver Pro France. In 2019, the WSL (World Surf League) has scheduled the competition from 3 to 13 October. That’s 11 days to see the best in the world competing on the Landes waves. During the same period, the women’s World Surfing Championship round, the Roxy Pro France, also takes place.
Last year, the young Hawaiian Keanu Asing caused an upset by winning the final against the title holder and world champion Gabriel Medina. Among the women, it was Carissa Moore, the Honolulu-native American, that won the Roxy Pro France.
At Hossegor, Seignosse or Capbreton in the Landes Region
As they do each year, the best spots of the South Landes area at Hossegor, Seignosse and Capbreton are in competition to host the WCT (World Championship Tour) rounds.
An international and cosmopolitan event
For 18 years, France has been one of the world’s great surfing nations that have had the honour of hosting a round of the World Tour which only has two rounds in Europe (France and Portugal). A sporting event of international scale that attracts crowds from across the world. The competition days have a cosmopolitan and festive atmosphere both on the beach and in the town. An incredible spectacle and atmosphere that is definitely not to be missed!
This year, the organisers have chosen the period from 3 to 13 October to start the competition one weekend and end it, depending on surf conditions, the following weekend.
A double opportunity to see the spectacle of the best surfers in the world!
Like every year, Naturéo will be thronged with sports fans as we are located near the competition sites. And we broadcast the competition live on the screens at La Peña!
